ABOUT THE ARTIST

a:two

Marco has started playing the piano at the age of 8, when he started attending music school and received a classical education for 12 years. After that, he has begun playing in several local bands, and spent many years as a bass player in a Metallica cover band, but never stopped playing piano and keyboards. 

After university education, in the field of neuroscience, he moved to Sweden for a PhD in Medical Science, specialization neurology, and continued his main professional career as a researcher and now group leader at Lund University in southern sweden.

Musically, the move to Sweden coincided with Marco joining the Progressive Rock band Soniq Circus, where he has been an active member for more than 10 years. With Soniq Circus, Marco has released a full length album, "Reflections in the Hourglass", under Progress Records, and more recently an EP, "I am awake, carry on life", independently. The EP was produced by the band with Marco as a main driving force, and was for the first time for the band professionally recorded at Hoborec studios.
The experience in the studio has motivated Marco to work on side projects and increase his production, mixing and mastering skills. a:two was born.

The name, a:two, blinks an eye to Marco's professional and nerdy side. In the human brain, one part of the cortex which is responsible for auditory processing and projects to other brain areas including those involved in emotion, is in fact called A2.
